About Me

I am an engineering leader with over a decade of experience building and leading high-performing teams. I have expertise in scaling products (100M+ users) while maintaining high standards, integrating acquired companies, and developing tech leaders. I have a proven track record for establishing processes that define successful hiring strategies, from the interview and onboarding stage to career development frameworks and performance management, assessing team composition along the way, and making necessary adjustments. My approach is to work with teams to understand the biggest opportunities for improvement and then assist in setting up the right environment for engineering excellence.

Career Highlights

I began my career as a Level Designer, contributing to Grand Theft Auto IV at Rockstar Games and pushing gaming technology boundaries. From there, I progressed into leadership roles, eventually becoming the VP of Engineering for Trello, where I successfully grew the engineering team from 20 to 200. I led that team to scale the business to 100M+ users, 10M+ monthly active users, and 1B+ API requests. I also pioneered effective remote work practices before they became mainstream, developed Trello’s enterprise offering (onboarding Fortune 500 clients), and successfully integrated with Atlassian post-acquisition. On the CTO leadership team at Atlassian, I worked with other engineering leaders to roll out processes across our 2,000+ person engineering team. I’m most proud that even throughout a lot of change and big company integration, we continued to be a beloved product and an incredible place for top engineers to work. After Atlassian, I joined an early-stage startup, Poggio Labs, to scale the team as we built a data-connected CRM to take on Salesforce and HubSpot. We onboarded some world-class customers and iterated rapidly on the CRM product before eventually sunsetting the CRM and resetting our efforts, focusing on a new generative AI product.
