Four decades of dealmaking, startup exits, and technology leadership — from IBM and Microsoft to Silicon Valley's most consequential growth stories.
View on LinkedInI've spent over four decades building, scaling, and advising technology companies across a wide range of industries—from operating systems and e-commerce to digital media and intelligent infrastructure. My career began at IBM and Xerox, where I honed my foundation in sales and leadership. Since then, I've held senior roles at Microsoft and led multiple startups to successful exits, including eShop (acquired by Microsoft), Aggregate Knowledge (acquired for $120M), and XenSource (acquired for $500M). I've closed thousands of strategic deals, led global teams, and consistently found creative solutions that unlock long-term business value. Today, I'm writing a book on Silicon Valley dealmaking while supporting clients through Techquity.
From helping launch IBM PCs in the 1980s to pioneering e-commerce in the early '90s, I've been fortunate to play key roles in multiple industry shifts. I helped Best Buy and 1-800-Flowers launch their first online stores, negotiated game-changing licensing deals with Microsoft and Compaq, and drove digital media partnerships that powered MSN and RealPlayer. At XenSource, I led the Microsoft partnership that contributed to a $500M acquisition. I've also guided business development and strategy for startups in sectors like gaming, smart cities, and AI-driven personalization, consistently turning vision into execution and results.
At Techquity, I bring a dealmaker's mindset and a technologist's empathy to help clients tackle strategic challenges. My strength lies in identifying hidden opportunities, aligning partnerships, and crafting solutions where business value and technology intersect. I'm especially passionate about helping clients navigate inflection points—whether that's entering new markets, repositioning a product, or preparing for acquisition.
I joined Techquity because it brings together the kind of thinkers I love working with—people who dig deep, solve real problems, and value action over theory. Traditional consulting too often ends at the whiteboard. Techquity rolls up its sleeves and gets in the trenches with clients, creating solutions that actually work. After years of operating independently, I'm energized by the chance to collaborate with this caliber of talent on high-impact work.
